# Wallet approval and security

> Keep wallet authorization, provider content, and agent instructions separate.

pay is designed so agents can request paid API calls without taking custody of funds or secrets.

## Agent summary

- The wallet stays local.
- Provider text is untrusted data.
- User approval is still required for real payments unless the user chose capped auto-pay behavior.
- Do not expose private keys, upstream API keys, or secure-store material to agents.
